The city Paris is currently hosting the Musique en l'Île festival, organized by La Toison d'Art (website here), a musical council that specializes in organizing and spreading concerts of vocal, and more particularly sacred music. During this festival that lasts from July 3rd to August 31st of 2014 (included), various concerts of classical and religious music will take place every few days inside of parisian churches such as the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church and the Saint-Louis-en-l'Île church, that are located in the center of the french capital. For a few shows, England and Russia-based choirs are taking the trip all the way here for your ears to enjoy... A good opportunity to combine both the pleasure of the eyes and this of the ears in one magical evening.

The choirs
Oxford Voices
Founded in 2002 by Mark Shepherd, this young mixed choir is specialized in the interpretation of English vocal music from the 16th to the 20th century.

Moskova Choir
Founded in 1998 by Pavel Soutchkov, the Moskova Choir is a traditional Russian mixed choir that sings chants of the grand feasts of the Russian Church, as well as usual and festive liturgy.

How to go from Hotel du Danube ?
Église Saint-Louis-en-l'Île :
When leaving Hôtel du Danube, take a left, then the second street on the right. Pass the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church (on the left), then take a left on Boulverd Saint-Germain. Keep walking on the boulevard for 10 to 15 minutes, until you make a left on Rue du Cardinal Lemoine. The street will lead you to Pont de Tournelle, which will allow you to get on Île Saint-Louis. Once you are on the island, keep going straight on Rue des Deux Ponts, then take the first street on the right (Rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Île). The church will be right there on your right.
Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés :
When leaving Hôtel du Danube, take a left, then the second street on the right. The church is just a few meters away on the left, on the Saint-Germain-des-Prés square.
