Information for our guests regarding an incident at one of our service providers
The provider of the booking management software used by the Hôtel du Danube, as well as by many other hotels in France, has been the victim of a cyberattack. Between 27 September and 5 October 2026, unauthorised individuals were able to view and extract customer records and booking information. The provider has confirmed to us that our hotel's data is among those affected.
The information concerned is as follows:
personal details: surname, first name, date, town and country of birth, nationality;
contact details: postal address, email address, telephone number;
booking details: dates of stay, room, deposit amount.
According to our provider, no credit card details are affected, nor any identity document numbers or copies. The unauthorised access was blocked on 5 October.
This information may be used in credible scam attempts. Fraudulent messages are currently being sent via WhatsApp to hotel guests: they may mention your name, the name of the hotel or the dates of your stay, and contain a malicious link.
Our recommendations:
do not click on any links received via WhatsApp, text message or email regarding a booking at the Hôtel du Danube;
never disclose your bank details, a password or a code received via text message in response to such a message;
the Hôtel du Danube will never ask you for payment or bank details via WhatsApp;
be wary of any requests that use your personal information, such as your date of birth, to gain your trust, and never send a copy of your ID following an unexpected message;
if you have any doubts about a request, please call us directly on +33 (0)1 42 60 34 70;
if you have clicked on a link or provided your bank details, contact your bank immediately.
We have reported the incident to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, and are informing our guests by email. For any queries regarding your data: info@hoteldanube.fr or +33 (0)1 42 60 34 70.
We sincerely regret this situation and thank you for your vigilance.
